This ultimate Japan Winter Programme takes place at Outward Bound Japan located in the Nagano area. OBJ base camp and its surroundings are all covered with much snow. It sometimes piles up to 3 meters high. The temperature often goes below 0 degree. In that kind of tough and frozen situation, both as individual and as group, people challenge themselves, face themselves, and go as further as they can and beyond.
All challenges must be very new experience for people from Hong Kong. Even staying in the cold weather and just no matter what you do on the snow, become big challenge and new experience for you. Back-country skiing, winter mountaineering, solo in the snow cave, and so on.
For back-country skiing, you need to learn how to ski first, and then, take a day ski trip as group challenge.
For winter mountaineering, you must do everything by yourself; packing, planning, learn some winter skill and complete the expedition by yourself. You need to set your base camp, eat, discuss and prepare things on the snow during the winter expedition.
For snow cave solo, first of all, participants have to build their own snow cave, and stay there, cold, quiet, and precious time, overnight alone. It gives you not only time to be alone, but also to think about the challenge and your life after you complete big challenge.
When you complete all challenges both as individual and as group, it becomes not only just experience, but also it becomes your life-time experience and means very much a lot for you even after you are back in Hong Kong.
